Our Outing to Bagatelle

Working hard deserved playing hard right? This term, due to all the hard work going on in the class, we went to Bagatelle to have a fun outing! When we arrived there, we went on a treasure hunt.
We were divided into three teams...
Team 1 - Mrs. Reed, Zoe, Eugenie, Ceverine, Etienne, and Dheeraj
Team 2 - Ms. Zajac, Annelly, Juliana, Asheeta, Gregory, and Daniel
Team 3 - Mr. Hartmann, Claudia, Sandrine, Ingride, Adrien, and Felix
It was fun! We were running around Bagatelle until our lunch at Spur. We all enjoyed ourselves with burgers, salads, sodas, and the onion rings.
Ms. Zajac really seemed to enjoy it.
After our fantastic lunch, we headed to L'arabica for a cool dessert.

We headed on shopping for treats at the Candy Store and Pick & Pay to end the fun day. Quote from Zoe, 'Miss, this is the best outing we've ever had.'
On the the way back to school, Mr. Hartmann gave us the results of the treasure hunt.

With 55 Points, in third place was Mr. Hartmann's Team.
In second place, with 63 Points, came Ms. Zajac's Team.
Mrs. Reed's Team, with 100 Points, came in first place.

And that's our term outing.

Mrs. Reed's Birthday

The students absolutely spoiled me for my birthday last Thursday, the 19th of April.  They surprised me with cupcakes (trick candles and all), popcorn, cards, cappuccino, and chocolates.  Each student made a one-page birthday wish and they attached them all together into a giant wall poster.  My favorite was from Dheeraj, which stated, "Birthdays are good for you.  Statistics show that people who have the most, live the longest."  Very clever!  They also added very cute little butterflies and mini-cakes.  What a wonderful day!  Thanks guys.

Lots of love,
Mrs. Reed

Welcome to the Grade 8 Blog for 2012

The Grade 8 class of 2012 is off to a great start!  Our theme for the year is "One Body, Many Parts".  Students were encouraged to see that they each play a special role in the Body of Christ.  No two students are alike and each one has their own special talents that can be used to serve the Lord.  To help the students and staff learn more about each other, the students presented their first term oral reports about themselves, their families and their friends as well as a display of their talents.  To start things off, Mrs. Reed and Ms. Zajac did their own orals for the class.  The students were very enthusiastic and had many questions for their teachers about their lives.  We had some very interesting orals which included Claudia bringing her pet bird to school, Zoe and Ingride singing, Felix playing piano, Gregory teaching the class how to do oragami, and much more.  Well done Grade 8!  Make sure to come back and visit our site often for more exciting news about events to come this year.
